In Sage Towers, there are no specific classes that players need to roll alts for just to access different abilities. Instead, all abilities are available to everyone at any time. These abilities are tied to three pieces of on a player's character, which can be obtained by trading with friends, finding treasure caches, or acquiring them from and bosses.
All abilities in Sage Towers are physics-based, which means that they will interact with each other if timed correctly. Abilities moving along the same path will collide, canceling each other out. This can be used to a player's advantage for defensive maneuvers but can also work against them if not used carefully.
Bosses in Sage Towers drop equipment that contains unique and exciting epic abilities. However, only a certain number of them can exist at any given time, and if a player doesn't log in for a while, the epic item will disappear from their character. Therefore, players need to work hard to keep their epic abilities and watch out for other players who may try to take them.
Using abilities in Sage Towers is different from traditional MMOs, as there is no tab targeting or click targeting. Players have to aim their abilities to ensure that they hit the intended target, similar to aiming in FPS games. Sage Towers offers a wide variety of abilities, including buffs and effects, with different delivery methods such as missiles, drops, runes, targeting, self, surround, and generators.
The developers of Sage Towers are continually creating and developing new abilities to add to the game based on player feedback and popular combinations. The goal is to provide players with a huge variety of choices and make each player feel important in dungeons and boss battles. Abilities can be easily switched in and out to provide utility at specific times or augment the role of the player. For instance, a player can switch to a piece of equipment with a needed ability, such as healing or a specific buff, to aid the group in a particular encounter.
