Gameplay Loop
Quick Start Guide: TL;DR
Find a safe spot to build your base and place your keystone for respawn.
Gather food, water, healing, and energy by defeating enemies and harvesting resources.
Upgrade your equipment and build up a supply of consumables to increase your chances of survival.
Group up with others to take on more challenging enemies and unlock powerful abilities.
Protect your belongings by storing them in your unraidable keystone bank and using automatic turrets to defend your base.
Getting Started At the beginning of the game, you will have four starter abilities that are tied to equipable rings. It is important to manage your food and water intake, as your health will begin to drop over time if they are not maintained. Building is available from the start, but be aware that it consumes energy, which regenerates slowly over time. While resources can be found scattered throughout the game world, defeating enemies will be your main source of crafting materials. Use the crafting Transmute system to combine items into new ones or upgrade existing equipment.
First Fight
The starting area is full of enemies, but most will not engage unless provoked. Use caution, as many enemies will call others in the area to fight you. Use your standard attacks and special abilities to take them down. Hostile enemies are located farther from the starting point and will engage without hesitation, so you may need additional gear or help to defeat them.
First Building
When building your base, find an area that is not too close to other players' keystones. Use the building mode to select your keystone and place it down. Surround it with a foundation and secure it with walls and a door. Your doors and other interactables can only be accessed by you. In the Safe Zone, your building can only be destroyed by decay. Feedback is encouraged.
First Adventure
Once you have established your base and are comfortable with the basics, it's time to venture out into the game world. Leaving the safety of the Safe Zone comes with risks, but the rewards are greater loot and equipment. Be prepared to face dangerous enemies and take on more challenging enemies like Monuments, which apply aggressive debuffs to players and summon elementals to protect it. A team of players is required to destroy a Monument, but the rewards are worth it.
First Death
Death is inevitable, but you can always respawn. Depending on server settings, you will likely drop all your loot upon death. Use the map to locate your corpse and retrieve your belongings. Keep in mind that PvP deaths usually result in your loot being taken.
What's Next?
As you level up, you can place additional keystones, upgrade your gear, and prepare for upcoming content such as dungeons, puzzles, and new abilities. Workstations that expand upon the crafting system will be able to be built inside your base. Ziggurats are coming soon. Remember to protect your belongings by storing them in your unraidable keystone bank and using automatic turrets to defend your base.
